Habitat - Indoor :: Taking a 10g apart

Well I'm trying to take my 10g I had laying around apart and use the glass to build an above tank basking spot.

I've already gotten rid of most of the sealant I possibly can with the razor. Only problem is that the glass is still stuck together. Any idea on how to safely peel the glass away from each other?

Also I put about 2 inches of water in there to wash out all the little sealant pieces and it held without any leaks >_>

The glass on a 10 gallon is not very thick, so I would recommend you look for an alternative.

Have you thought about using acrylic/plexiglas? It's cheap and you can get it cut to size. You can also shape it a little bit.

Ah okay thanks, would hardware store sell acrylic or plexiglass?

Yes, you can even get it cut at the store if you have the measurements with you.
