hola, nameless is maybe two inches big. he's in a 10 gallon tank right now, with the whole setup and what not. im going to need a bigger tank eventually because i plan to try and keep him alive. so, should i just go out and get like a 75 or 100 gallon now? or should the tank grow with the turtle. how bout buying a 50 gallon, then like a 100 gallon like in a couple years.?

I don't see why not go as big as you can, save money in the long run.

Definitely get the biggest tank you can afford. You end up wasting a lot more money if you upgrade several times. You won't have to worry about your turt drowning because they are used to swimming in at least 10' of water. The only thing you'll have to worry about is you'll make our turts jealous

If it's not a problem for you and you can afford to do it, I would think getting a 40gallon breeder tank first and then a 100 or larger a couple of years later would be good for the turtle. That way they don't feel like the walls are closing in on them as they reach adult size. I don't know if that's really something they would notice or not, just a thought.

I would wait until you find out if you have a male or female (shouldn't take long). Males can go in a tank around 80 gallons, females could need up to 120 gallons.
