I just put Limu in it's new tank environment, but it seems like it's not sure about it's new surroundings and so much water! Is Limu going to be ok?

It's been almost 24 hours and Limu seems to like his new environment better, but still seems unsure. Limu will swim around frantically at times like it wants to get out. It also doesn't seem to like the turtle dock, but it did crawl up on it a few times but then rapidly dived back in the water. The water is at 77 degrees, so what else can I do to get Limu to bask on the dock? Oh, and Limu hasn't eaten since yesterday morning. Is this normal too?

Only 24 hours? It can take a good week (sometimes more) for them to *fully* adjust to a new environment!

Be patient......I wouldn't worry.

On the basking, just make sure that the temp on the basking area is about 10 degrees warmer than the water, then let nature take it's course. Like industrial girl said, it takes awhile for them to calm down enough to eat and bask after a big change in habitat. Give him some peace and quiet and privacy and he'll settle.

After a week, if you're still concerned, let us know.

Thanks. Limu is now walking up on to the middle of the dock and staying longer. We keep our distance so we don't spook Limu. The food still hasn't been touched, but I won't worry since you are all much more experienced than I am.;)
