Turtle tank setups and other indoor configurations.

What can I give my turtles to play with besides fish and plants? Can I put a golfball(washed)? What can I give them.

Turtles really don't need a play thing. Fish and plants are all the fun they need.

i put some crystal balls in my tank (golf ball size and larger). im not sure if it qualifies as play, but the do kinda balance on top the balls and paddle. it reminds me of a hamster in one of those wheel things.

I put bubbles in the tank recently. only one turtle pays any attention to them so far, but he loves them! He hangs out in the bubble stream, bites at them. looks like he really enjoys them.

I have some water bamboo in the tank. My guys like to nock them over and float around on them like logs. i think they enjoy any free floating thing they can hang on.

One last thing...
I added one of those rock looking plastic aquarium mountains. They like to climb on it and hang out under the water.

Hope that gives you some ideas. Let me know if you find any fun new toys!

You can buy a little air pump - they aren't expensive - like this-

http://www.petsmart.com/global/product_ ... e=2#detail

You attach a length of plastic tubing to it and attach the tube to a little rock or decoration that goes in the aquarium. The pump blows air through the rock or decoration and bubbles come out. This aerates the water and provides amusement for turtles.

A clean golf ball would probably be fun (do they float?). A ping pong ball is fun.

They like to root around in river rocks and decorations. Males like to flutter at things (example - my male Spot likes to flutter at a favorite rock which he seems to think of as a female turtle).

They like to swim around or sleep in plastic plants.

Some like to chase minnows.

When they're are older, if they have bold personalities some of them really love to get out of the aquarium occasionally and explore. You really have to watch them closely so they don't get into trouble or wander off. It's not a good idea for little ones that are usually too shy to enjoy outings.

I had a bubble thing but my turtle kept biting the tube. So i pulled it out. So you can do the golf ball thing? I think they float. if they do i will use one. if they don't than i wont. But you should consider the bubble thing. A lot of turtles have different personalities so yours may like it.

Ping pong balls will float. I had a cat toy that was a clear ball with a fuzzy toy inside of it. Mr. Turtle loved to push it around the tank and bite at it. He also loves playing in bubbles, however he also loves kicking at the stone so it becomes unlodged and floats to the top of the tank. LOL I haven't put the bubble stone back in since i've put him in his new tank though I need to get on that.

They make special golf balls for begginers that float-so when you're first learning to swing and constantly hit it into the water the course doesn't lose all of them.
