Turtle tank setups and other indoor configurations.

I just moved my turtle from a 20 gallon to a 55 gallon! Cant wait to put him in it. My question is though is that he could touch the bottom of the tank and have his head out of the water, now he cant it is to deep. He wont drown will he. I have a floating dock, and some short plants but they wont do much for him. Should I be worried?

Most likely not, unless it's a very young turtle. In that case you should provide plants and other material for him to hold on to. But, basically if he/se is over a year old he'll be fine.

He should be fine, I'm assuming that when you got him he was a good 1 1/2 - 2 inches. Turtles are natural swimmers, they don't forget. I moved mine from 5 inches of water to 17 inches and they're fine. I wouldn't worry, but just keep and eye on him for a few minutes..

Should I have one of my plants floating around so he can grab that?

Yes, it would be good if he could rest by holding onto a floating plastic plant, it's really ok to add as much water as possible (without letting him escape) they are natural swimmers and would rather be in deep water than being able to reach the top with their feet on the bottom.
