I am really panicking.... If i get a rubbermaid container...do I just attatch the filter/heater to the side of it like a normal fish tank? If anyone has a pic of a set-up like this I would like to see it...

Lol,just calm down its ok.Yes you attach the filter and water heater to the side (just like a tank).I have a rubbermaid and it has worked perfect for me.

I got the rubbermaid at a dollar store for 6 dollars,but i have also seen them at (walmart,target,kmart,home depot,lowes) you get the idea..

I already got one of them...its pretty big...I'm not sure how many gallons but definetly big enough. Is it hard to change the water with those big things?

well,i got mine for 40$ BUT i saw the same one for 23$ at a petsmart..now i know where im getting my UVB bulb when mine burns out.The clamp lamp is 10$ shouldnt be more than that.

Actually its easier,the bigger the better.The smaller the enclosure the more dirty it gets meaning more cleaning for you

thanks alot. So I am looking at at 8 dollar container, 15 dollar filter, 10 dollar heater and a 5 dollar thermometer. After that its about 35 bucks for the lamp. one last thing...how do i heat the basking area? just turn a lamp on near it?

i change my water every month,and every week i do partial water changes taking out 25% of the water and put in fresh new water.

How do I make the area for basking warmer if it has to be warmer? with heated water and a comfortable temp. house, what has to be done other than having a floating dock with a uvb lamp shining on it. Would a floating dock be ok for basking? I would plan on leaving that light on for about 8 hours...would that be enough?
