When it comes to turtles, you can never have too much filtration. If you get a larger filter, don't stop using the old one, even if you think its too small. Just place it on the other side of the tank. In my 90 gal., I have a Fluval 404 on one side, and a 402 (half the size of the 404 and not suitable for a 90 gal.) on the other. Together they keep the tank water crystal clear, never any ammonia or nitrates.....
