Okay, simple solution.

Plecos eat plants. That's why people with planted tanks get:

They eat algae off plants. Get like 3 of them.

Will my betta beat it up? I was going to originally get those but my pet store didn't have them. The next closest pet store it half an hour away :( So I got a betta

That I do not know...betta are only agressive towards there own kind.

I just read that I have the dreaded bluegreen algae ..and algae eaters dont eat it :(. I think I need to clean my tank more..opps lol
