ok i have progress so far i need to run to the supply store and get some plexi glass ill post pics when i get done

are you sure with all that humidity rising up wont bow the wood over time


You can use finishes that will protect from that, at least a bit. They rate different types of finishes here for humidity effectiveness.

we've had our atba for close to two years now and it hasn't bowed. We used regular plywood for the sides and to frame the front door, we used the stuff that peg boards are made out of for the back (just without the holes). Nothing has been effected by the water. Ours is open top though so that might be why.

*if you're going to keep your turt in that tank, you need to remove the gravel ASAP

I already did theres just the big marbles and glass right now ordering bigger rocks /river rocks as they seem to be called here

it looks great! and dont be suprised if ur tutrtle does not go all the way onto the tile or wood there. odds r he will stay on the log for the most part since it is closer to the water. but when he gets more comfortable u will prob catch him up there. took my turtle a while b4 he would move past the ramp

Thanks. I tested it out with the turtle it actually goes on it i got the Plexiglas and im going to make a sliding glass piece for it with some wire mesh on top so i can just set both lights on there ill take pictures as i go along...

It's looking great! It might not be something to worry about now, but you should get some sort of lock for the sliding doors. Your RES could very easily slip his nails in between the plexiglass and the wall and slide the door open. The chances probably aren't that great right now, but better safe than sorry.

whats up with all the floating food in there lol i thought there are suppose to be fed about as much as can fit in their head.
