I would get a MVB, but going with 2 bulbs is cheaper in the long run....I know the main reason for getting one is so you only have one bulb, but that doesn't bother me right now.

I'm getting the tank from my father's friend that he has known over fifteen years. He previously used the tank for his son's python but the son and his python moved out five years ago so the tank has been sitting vacant, lol.
Will the MVB will be on a clamp? Greg, my dad's friend said the tank has two lids, and it has a support bar in the middle of the tank.

MVB=Mercury Vapour Bulb, although many people refer to the entire bulb & fixture assmbly as an MVB. The point is, you would need to ask the previous owner what type of fixture they had the bulb in, since there are a variety of fixtures and ways to mount them, although as Steve said, it is likely a large dome fixture.

Based on Steve & Marisa's height guideline you would likely need to suspend the lamp from the ceiling (or something similar like this http://www.reptilesupply.com/images/LF-20.jpg) rather than use a clamp attached to the tank.

Just remember that the turtle tank requirements will be different to the former owner's snake tank requirements, so be prepared to make changes.

Brent, what are you talking about? Do you mean the bulb or the fixture?

The MVB bulb has to be pointing straight up and down, so you can't use a clamp lamp or something will go wrong with the bulb.
