Habitat - Indoor :: New habitant 110 gallons

I have finally got a 110 gallon tub for my turtle.
I got some more figuring to do. I want to put it on wheels. Make a frame with 2x4s about 10 inches high.
It will weight about 1000 lbs I imagine with the frame and tub and water.
Anybody have any suggestions.

I saw a wonderful idea like what your thinking in the Basking area thread? It was amazing.

It kills me that I can't find it now. Anyway, the person had taken a 300 gallon stock tank and built a frame under it. Then enclosed the frame in a what looks like a normal tank stand. The basking area was all around the stock tank, about 6 inches on the sides, and a foot on either end. It had 12 inches of acrylic to keep on 3 sides and a large natural background on the other to keep the turtle in. Finally the ramp was a branch coming out of the water onto the top of the frame. It was amazing.

Putting wheels or casters to move that thing... you'd need some sort of steel frame.

Steve...I should be able to build a wood frame I think
I'll have to build it strong though reinforcing the frame to accommodate the weight of water

Why do you want it to roll? That's a lot of weight to be pushing around.

The only real difference is that the one in the pic doesn't have the acrylic side walls, instead they elected to just lower the water level.

It looks good Kansas, I can't do an ope setup like that. I have predators in house(cats). In fact one was eyeballing our algea eater yesterday.
