Habitat - Indoor :: My RES's tank

Here are some pics of my res and his tank.

Here he is on the hunt for food.

A view of the tank from the front, the round tube is a 8" dia piece of drainage pipe.

It's 135 gallon (72x18x20), I plan on building a above tank basking area when I have som spare time.

Beautiful setup. So clean and spacious! I love the blue pipe - does your turtle swim back and forth through it?

The water is beautiful and clean. Do you have two filters? What kind of filters do you use?

What kind of lights do you use? Is one a tube fluorescent?

Wow, beautiful set-up!! I love that pipe you have in there!! And the real plants are a nice touch. I really can't tell by the pics, but does the tank sit completely on that dresser? Or does it over-hang? And is there anything in between the UVB tube light, and the basking spot? Like the plastic cover in your Slimline fluorescent fixture? Or the glass it is sitting on?

I am pretty sure that it just looks like this in the pic, but I just want to make sure.

That bureau that you have the tank on looks like it's under a lot of strain. Are you sure it can hold?

N4784N, I see what you mean about the overhang. This is scarey. That much water is extremely heavy.

im going with the majority about the over hang factor.. although it does kinda of look like theres wood under it..
I need to get my turtle his own castle like that place.

I'm with everyone else about the support of the dresser. Hopefully it's strong enough. If not, that'll be quite an indoor pond

You might want to angle the clamp lamp a little to the left. It looks like it is focused on the front corner of the basking dock.

Other than that, it looks FANTASTIC!

Thanks for all the comments guys. Here are some answers to some of the questions asked.

1. Yes the tank overhangs the dresser by 6" on easch side. I reinforced the inside of the dresser with gussets and ply. The shop I bought the tank from had one fully filled with water on a smaller stand so I am not too worried there.
2. Charles loves swiming through the pipe and standing on it. It is just a piece of scrap drainage pipe. If you go by any large construction project you can find all sizes of this stuff.
3. The heat lamp was just out of place when I took the pics. There is no plastic below the lamps above the dock. I have the cover turned sideways to prevent breezes from getting into the tank.
4. Here is a list of what I have in the current set-up

fluval 205 filter
cascade 1000 filter
slimline fixture w/ uva/uvb lamp
75w heat lamp
aquaeon 300w heater
generic air pump
2 zoo med docs
My next project is going to be an above tank basking dock.
