Habitat - Indoor :: Furry white stuff

Turtle tank setups and other indoor configurations.

Post Posted: Sat Aug 11, 2007 8:07 pm   Furry white stuff

I was about to clean Tito's tank today
and i saw a whole bunch of furry white stuff attched to the filter pipe and floating in the water and on plastic?plants.

It was in the bio filter in the filter too

Its floating everwhere in the tank

Looks like little little bits of cotton candy
and hair

What is that?

I'm not positive but it sounds like some sort of fungus. Wait for someone more experienced to answer though.

A picture would probably be more helpful. And you should test your water every now and then too.

Well until you can get a pic, get a sample of your water and get it tested. Whatever is growing in your tank might be harmful to tito.
