Habitat - Indoor :: Question about Fluval 105 Filters

Turtle tank setups and other indoor configurations.

Greetings!

I did a forum search about this and didn't get some of the information I was looking for.

How loud is the filtering unit? Currently I am using a Fluval 1+ (on advice of the pet store person) and its not cleaning the tank well.

Also, I read about a "leaking" problem. Can someone please describe this to me? Is it a significant or just droplet leaks?

Thanks.

Fluval 105 is a canister filter, in which the main housing sits outside of the tank. Now, the have adjustable nozzles attached to hoses which you can move under water. That would make it very quiet.

That said, I would not invest money into a small canister filter. How big is your tank and how much water is in it?

Right now it's 20 gallons, half filled. I think I will be getting the 205 now. I didn't realize the price difference was only about 20 bucks. Thanks very much about the noise information :)

I would get an aquaclear filter instead. Canisters are worth the extra money, but are a bit wasted on a small tank. Once you upgrade to a 40, 60, 90 gallon tanks, then go for it :)

The Aquaclear will make a bit of noise since water flows down as there is no outlet nozzle.
