Thanks!! I'm going to have fun setting it up and decorating it, I can't wait .. and yes I was wrong, it's an 18" reptiglo 15w 8.0 but I got it about a year ago so it's time to replace it. Should I get the same bulb or something different? Recommendations are greatly appreciated!!

My 100 gallon tank has a glass divider shelf on top, so all a fluorescent tube fixture has to span is about half the width of thank (tank is 5' long, strip only has to span around 2'. I could use two 24" fixtures and they would work just fine on my tank.

Right now I have a metal mesh cover on the 20 gallon and I have the same type of cover for the 75 gallon that I was going to use and possibly modify it for the filter .. If I can get away with not using the screen top that would be great, maybe I'll try to do a little plexiglass shelf on top just wide enough to hold the light fixture, time to get innovative on this one.

You could always get a clamp lamp with a ceramic base and use an MVB bulb which will cover both uva and uvb.

If you can get a longer bulb for your tank, your turtles would surely benefit from it, but if you can't, you should be okay as long as you place it over the basking area. And that's good you're replacing the bulb. Remember, do not put any plexiglass or glass between the bulb and the turtles as it will filter the UV.
