Habitat - Indoor :: found a great, low watt bulb, for heat

Well I finally found a lighting setup that is working well. I have a fixture with a metal can around it that is suppose to radiate the heat forward, but the 75w household bulb i was using still wasn't quite getting the job done, so i started exploring.

i've found that the big 4.5in diameter indoor/outdoor floodlamps that have the metal reflectors built into them work fantastic! i am using a 50w flood lamp and it's almost too hot. i have to back it off quite a bit. I am probably going to switch to the 40w when I get a chance to go back to the store.

saves electricity and works better! just wanted to share.

do they still have their proper uva/uvb lights, though? my uva bulb only cost me $7. my spiral uvb bulb & the tube uvb for the old habitats were what really got me --$22! but it works for them.

Yes, I have a UVB 5.0 bulb in addition to the heat lamp. Where did you find your uvb bulb for $22? My 18" tube uvb bulb cost me $40! i was blown away.

the tube bulb i bought at petsmart, the spiral bulb i bought at petco. it could be the areas, though, b/c they were more expensive in katy while i bought mine in houston.
