Ha about the hippie style? I might do that for my 108 gal tank...cheap, easy, fast, heck I dont see anything wrong with this idea...do you guys?

There's nothing wrong with it at all! The best part about it, other than being cheap, is it's the most customizible. For example, you can throw a sheet under the aquarium and have it hang over the blocks. If that doesn't work you can remove it and try something different. If you do somethign that could actually ruin the stand, how much did it cost to assemble, 30 bucks maybe?

petco has a nice stand for a 55 gallon and its only about 50 bucks

BEING A MCGYVER AS I AM, GO TO A THRIFT STORE AND FIND A STURDY DRESSER THE SAME SIZE AS THE TANK,THE DRAWERS WILL GIVE STORAGE AND CREATIVITY WILL ALLOW A SPACE FOR AN EXTERNAL FILTER SYSTEM IF YOU GO THAT ROUT. THE PLYWOOD UNDERNEATH WILL SPREAD THE LOAD TO THE STRONG AREAS OF THE DRESSER. A METAL FRAME UNDER THE PLYWOOD WILL DISPLACE THE LOAD EVEN BETTER I USED THICK SQUARE TUBING UNDER MINE AND WORKS WELL.EVEN A 2X4 SUB FLOOR IS GOOD WITH ADDITIONAL LATERALS BETWEEN BOTH ENDS OF THE TANK. DRESS IT UP WITH FABRIC OR OTHER DECOR TO HIDE THE WOOD.

I Honestly don't have the Room for a Dresser at the Momment. I just Bought them a 20 Gallon for now. I'm hoping to make more Room Somewhere in the House so i can Set up the 55.
