just got back from PETCO and they have a sale going on if you buy a tank stand, you get the tank free. Got a 75g tank, stand, hood for $230. seemed like a really good deal to me.

What kind of stand did you get?? Metal or wood??

i got a 80 gallon tank with a wooden stand all for free from craigslist

Instead of a bigger tank, i would takent that $230 and buy a 200-300 gallon rubbermaid stock tank instead.

That's not a bad deal. I paid $345 for my 75g with wood cabinet. As for size, I decided to go with the 75g for one main reason - my turtle is male, and the only difference with a 90g tank is the height, which is only 4" more than the 75g. Since I'm planning on building a basking area above the tank in the future, paying an extra $100 for only an added 4" in height seemed like a waste to me.
