UGH!!!! They're falling off, and they're too slippery for the turt's feet. I'm going to have to use the router to groove out some ledges. :(

Sorry that those turtles didn't work out. They were cute. Could they go on the tank somewhere or once you stick them that's it?

Using a router is a great idea. You could just rout out challels horizontal to the ramp. Bet that would work great. Probably a 1/8 or 1/4" bit would do just fine. The thicker the plexi the better.

You could also just drill holes in the ramp for grip. Holes let water pass through for added circulation. I routed groves in one of the first ramps I built. I had to use my router table with material that thin to get a consistent groove. The ramp ended up snapping during one of the last few grooves  Thin plexi doesn't route well because it heats up really darn fast and it weakens and starts to flex during the routing process. I found a 1/2" forstner bit on the drill press to provide much quicker and better results for an acrylic ramp.

Finally, it's finished. I ended up cutting 1/4" strips from my acrylic scraps and cemented them onto my ramp. They've held up beautifully and the turts are using the ATBA quite often.

(I hate that the pictures upload sideways).

Interesting. Don't they get caught on the strips when sliding down the ramp?

Not that I've seen. They also hang out on the ramp sometimes.

Looks great! I think it's similar to the one they make over at Glasscages.
