Similar to this one: http://s270.photobucket.com/user/reb48/ ... 4.jpg.html

It seems easier than getting it to hang correctly on the tank. We are home from Lowe's with a .69 piece of PVC cut in the right places, however the employee marked where to cut it with a permanent marker. Should I try to get it off before putting it in the tank?

I have the same PVC layout but with tile above it. If you have a magic eraser or maybe rubbing alcohol, it should come off. It shouldn't be a problem though... I'd be more worried about it being dirty from Home Depot in general.

I scrubbed them with a magic eraser and got as much off as I could. Today I'm going to wash them with vinegar, rinse really well, and try to get it in the tank. When I made the other PVC support, we got the piece from home depot for $1.60, and they cut it for us. At Lowes, there was only one guy in plumbing and he was really busy. He said he'd cut it but kept needing to help other customers first, so finally I finished it myself. Imagine a 42 year old mom and a 10 year old girl sitting on the floor of the plumbing section cutting PVC pipe. Quite entertaining for the other customers. PVC=.69 cents, entertainment value=priceless!

Heh :) Almost any saw can be used to cut PVC, a hand saw or hack saw will do.
