Habitat - Indoor :: Best Filter Recommendations?

We've been without power since Monday night when storms rolled through. I've got extension cords strung all over the house to the gas generator.

All the stopping and starting of the generator has caused my fluval 406 to not be happy. I ordered an fx6 from Amazon yesterday morning and it actually arrived today! I'm not hooking it up until I have utility back. I haven't even opened the box, because I don't want to be tempted.

Api filstar should be on the "Not recommended" list. So, they finally got back with me and I have to send them the parts and $10 for return shipping.oh almost forgot while looking at the filter I discovered there is a chunk of plastic missing where the lid seals. That explains all the air that was in the filter well maybe. At any rate I can not and will not ever recommend this filter to anyone.

That's why I took mine back to Petsmart when I noticed a similar problem. The paperwork said that they would send me the new filter parts within 30 days. I'm like, I can't wait 30 days for a filter! What was Sheldon supposed to do?

If Rena were still Rena - I would say buy it but since they aren't - I wouldn't touch API with a 10 foot pole.
