Habitat - Indoor :: Heater recommendations

Turtle tank setups and other indoor configurations.

Hi all,

Moxie's heater (a 75w Stealth) seems to have stopped working. In my quest to replace it, I discovered that these heaters were recalled in 2011 due to overheating leading to tank breakage and fires (and presumably harm to the animals).

With that information in hand, I'm thinking I should probably make a point of replacing Napoleon's heater as well. What brands and models are currently regarded as the safest and most reliable? I have one 30 gallon tank and one 45 gallon tank.

Thanks in advance!

Katie

Hi Katie... there's been a few discussions on the site about it, you should pop in more :D

Get an Eheim Jager... they are great heaters. Marineland will also refund you for any working and non working Stealth or Stealth Pros. If you still have them, call them up and they will send you a shipping label.

I know! I got out of the habit of checking the forums when I went back to school - time to recommit to keeping current!

Thanks for the tips; great info!
