Hey Everyone! I have a turtle named Mcflurry (that's why I named my accout Mcfluryyy). I have some questions about my turtle because I just bought him a few days ago and I'm new to turtles.

Here are my questions about baby  s:

How long can you put a turtle in an aquarium (meaning can it always go in water all day)?

Can it always be on land for the 1~3 hours without water?

How often do you have to feed it?

What food is the most suitable?

Does his/her habitat have to be big (if so, please tell me how big)?

If you replied or answered to any of these questions, thank you :D !!!

Ok first off we need some details. Why kind of turtle is it, size what set do you have ect. Next you need to find the Care Sheet for this turtle species.

How long can you put a turtle in an aquarium (meaning can it always go in water all day)? If it is a water turtle then it needs to be in water most of the time. But it needs a dock with a UVA & UVB light that it can easily climb on to and dry off. If it doesn't have a place it can climb out and dry off it will start having shell issues.

Can it always be on land for the 1~3 hours without water? If it is a water turtle, then it can be on dry land for a period of time but it can stress it out. If it has access to water and a basking dock then you really shouldn't take it out of its eviroment very often. Turtles do not like to be handled.

How often do you have to feed it? This depends on the age and size of the turtle. But the easiest way to determine this is 2 inches and under get fed daily the amount is about the size of the turtles head. Over 2 inches every other day and the same amount. Overfeeding can cause many heath issues and they will beg no matter how often you feed them.

What food is the most suitable? Go to the feeding board on here there are several posts at the top that will answer this for you.

Does his/her habitat have to be big (if so, please tell me how big)? General rule is 10 gallons of water for every 1 inch of shell. To save yourself money. Get the biggest you can afford so you do have to upgrade as often. And get a filter that has a 3x the size capasity. ie if you have a 20 gallon tank get a filter for a 60 gallon. Turtles put out more waste than fish and filters are rated for fish not turtles.
