Hello all

I am going to upgrade from a power filter to a canster filter in the next couple of weeks. I am most likely going to get the fluvial 405.... From all of your experience what is the best media set up?

I just finished one of these drawings on another thread for an XP3. You caught me with the crayons out. Here's one for the 405. You'll want a bag of purigen and fill the rest of the filter with bio media.

I don't know how big your tank is, but the 405 can only handle about 33 gallons of turtle. The Rena Xp4 or fluval FX5 are much better turtle filters. I use the FX5 myself.

Yes the 405 is too small. Your best bet would be the FX5 or a Rena xp4. I have a fx5 on my 75 with the intent of upgrading my tank in a few years.
