Habitat - Indoor :: (Kind of) new setup for my Res

Turtle tank setups and other indoor configurations.

Hi!
Small update on my Res: he's grown a lot in the last few months, he is 9,5 cm long now! So I had to get the "white" ramp away, since he needed more water. After some failed DIY attempts, I ended up with the classic Turtle Dock, which he loves. He hides underneath a lot, as I also read in this topic... I changed the gravel with sand, which, as I also read here, is easier to clean. I noticed this afternoon though that he tries to eat some of it - is this normal?

I am already thinking about the next expansion and I would like to ask - what is your opinion about the Turtle Topper by Reptology?

Here are some fresh photos of Res:

When I cleaned the gravel to store it, this is what I found.... how much did my turtle shed in 3 months???

Very nice. And yes it's normal for your turtle to eat a little sand. It's ok because it's small enough for him to pass and won't cause any digestive problems. I'm sure your turtle is loving both of the new additions :)

From what I understand of people that have the Turtle Topper is they love it, the only problem is once you go to a larger tank it doesn't fit. As of right now there isn't one made for a larger size tank but from what i've seen from posts on another forum the company that makes it is trying to see how much interest there is in them making a larger one.

1.0.0 - Graptemys Nigrinoda Nigrinoda (Peanut)
0.0.1 - Malaclemys Terrapin Centrata Concentric (Speedy)

Thank you Jaysea! :)
The sand settled and the temperature also, the aquarium looked really nice today, with the sun falling on Res!
I think that the Topper will be my next purchase - my tank now is just below 15 gallons, and I read that it fits tanks up to 55. But it's good they consider expanding the size.
