I just picked up 2 Chinese Sucker Fish ($2.99 Each) yesterday and they are one of the best fish you can get as far as i can see for algae fish. They are SO quick and dont even let turtles get near them before swimming off. I also have some rock in there they can swim into and stuff and I think they know to stay inside there most the time. But yeah, if you need sucker fish, go with the Chinese...they rock!

If you mean a chinese algae eater then be careful, when mature they get mean and like any pleco species have been known to hurt and kill turtles. But for 2.99 you can dispose of them when they get bigger. Someone on here was telling me how one drowned there turtle. I have common plecos and they get bit all the time but never lose a scale, there tough as nails

are you kidding me? Hunt and Kill Turtles? That is crazy, I think my turtles would bite the crap out of them tho. So, mine are about the size of a small feeder fish, how big do they get? the same size as a regular pleco?

A regular pleco will do the same, but they are not as aggressive. I wouldnt let a CAE get above 4 or 5 inches before trading it in, a common pleco, depending on the size of your turtle I'd trade in at 6 to 8. Yeah really, a CAE will actually attack a turtle. When mature they get downright mean, almost carnivorous, they wont eat as much algae and they will start attacking stuff. I have seen them kill discus fish by locking on their sides and eating holes in them. But even a common pleco, when it gets so big, can stick to the turtles shell and hold him down til he drowns. When he tries to surface the fish comes out of the water first and freaks out, swims back down and drowns the turtle. It has happened and can, so get rid of them when they get so big, and get rid of that CAE when it gets about 5 inches or starts getting aggressive. Also, I'm telling ya, my commons get bit right on the face daily and swim away like it was nothing if they move at all, they are heavily armored and tough as nails.

Yeah the regular Pleco's are touph, but the CAE's dont look like have a hard armor like the regular ones do, they look alot easy'r to kill. and yeah i can already tell they get mean cuz there always going after the gold fish in the tank. You think there trying to stick to one and eat it? there about the same size if not a little longer then some of the smaller gold fish in the tank.

They dont usually go carno until there mature but yeah it definitely can kill it. No they dont look as tough as commons, they may be able to get eaten easier but it seems that there faster too. Ive kept both and never lost either kind. I have had to trade them in though.
