Anyone think this would be a okay setup for RES Turtles? Or just leave it full of water and a dock...

They're really easy to make, if your handy with wood, its just a box with a plastic ramp, i used plexiglass for my walls, but all sides wooden would work too.

Yeah I live out in the desert and there are spots near my house where people drive out in the desert and just drop all sorts of junk off and I know a few spots with HUGE Flat pieces of wood. Might go get a few pieces today and have my next door nabor help me make one. They dont look that hard to make..and a Homemade seems way better then any you can buy in a store.

Homemade allows you to customize size, and you can decorate it how you want, you can make a turtle mansion.... plus, theres nothing more satisfying than seeing your turtle basking in something you made, its awesome.

As was said, ATBA seems the best option normally, thing I would bring up though is if you're going out grabbing random wood piles that you don't know where they came from, I would be concerned about the condition of the wood and/or contaminants in the wood. Obviously it's your choice, but if it has chemicals or some kind of ants or termites or something, it could impact it's usefulness, if not being down right harmful.

@Seroster

Yeah I know that, The Wood is in the sun all day tho and it was sorta stacked up on some stuff so there are no termites in it for sure, there is alot of wood out there with termites in it and you can tell when its been hit with them pretty easy.

Other then that it just looks like some wood that was left over from a recent project from someone. not in bad condition at all.
