Habitat - Indoor :: 2 Small Water Heaters = 1 Big One?

Turtle tank setups and other indoor configurations.

I have 110 gallon tank but every store is out of 400w water heaters.

Can I get two 200w heaters?

My turtle isnt eating as much as she used to. I have had her for years and she is even refusing pellets for the past two days. She started refusing lettuce a couple of weeks ago. Her water temp says 70.

This has never been an issue before but I'm getting kind of worried.

thanks

I guess that was a dumb question.. I called an aquarium store and they said that would be fine, maybe even better.

I'm going to give it a shot.

It'll be better in my opinion. You could put one on each side of the tank, opposite of each other so the water would be evenly heated. I did that with my tank and it worked well.

1 Ouachita Map Turtle 4.0'' (Hurricane)
The rest of the turtles have been adopted to good homes. :)

Two water heaters much better than one. If one completely fails, then the other may hold the temperature, or at least prevent a rapid drop. If one jamms on, then you have much less chance of boiling the tank.

I was going to get a 300W or my new 75 gallon and it was suggested to me to run two 200W's next to each filter intake instead. In my opinion this works perfect at least for my setup. Warmed water is sucked in, sprayed out and circulated throughout the tank. Keeps it at a constant 79 degrees 24/7.

I'm back to report that this did the trick. Yaddle is back to her wacky self. I couple of weeks ago I out a heater on both sides of the tank. She was back to herself in 48 hours.

I just wonder why I didnt need them the past few years... I live south Houston, its pretty warm but the weather has been crazy this year.

THANKS. This website rules.

(and we made he jello shots for the first time, so she is now extra happy) :lol:
