how loud how well do they work how often do you clean the filter that kind of stuff

i bought a cascade my self and had nothing but problems with it. Must have been a defective one because i have heard good things about the cascade filters

The only sound i hear is from the water splashing.But if you don't like that, just raise the water level above the output.
I just transferred mine from my 75 gallon to my 125 without cleaning it so i wouldn't kill the bacteria.It's been running for 2 months since last time i cleaned it.Water still great.
All around great filter IMO.
