Habitat - Indoor :: i need a new dock

i have cork bark that i bought, but its so thick in certain areas, my turtle cant climb it and it makes it too close to the bulb.....but if i try to cut it i no ill eff it up. i already cut it to fit the tank, and im limited to wat i can do....any ideas with egg crate or something?

i am in the process of building one with pvc pipe. Its strong Sturdy and have so many options.
