What temperature is the water. What temp is the air and the basking spot? Is there a window in the direction that it is swimming?
Take care,
V Lou

I have:
2 kitties
lots of plants
1 female RES, Itai, 1 female Western Painted, Daisey. They have lots of colorful pet fish and about 770 gal water.

How big is "good sized?"

If he's swimming away from the filter, since you've only had him a few days, perhaps he's afraid on it (an unfamilar object). Or, if the current is rather strong, perhaps he's just swimming in the direction the current is taking him. What kind of filter is it?

How big is the tank (gallons)? How much water is in it?
