the bathroom.

thats all you should know.... unless! its big not like mine

but the bathroom...lol i dont think you wanna be showering and turtles begging. and lots of other things

the kitchen isnt reccomended for me. especially when your frying something and water splashes in the frying pan..yeah. but you can keep it away from the stove

but thats all i can think of. anywhere else sounds good

Don't put it in front of windows or doors. Don't put it in an area where it will be exposed to the vents in your house. Put it in a room with a steady temperature. Don't put it in a bathroom you plan on using or on a kitchen counter, unless your kitchen is large, then keep it away from all the heating/cooling elements and away from any cooking or food prepping area. If your turtle is still a hatchling, place it in a low traffic area.

#1 place to NOT put a tank is in front of a window. The direct sunlight will cause algae growth.
#2 place to NOT put a tank is in a kitchen close to any food preparation area.Without realizing it, you might contaminate the area by laying nets or stuff you use to clean the tank on the counter and it may cause salmonella contamination.
#3 place to NOT put a tank (if it's a very large and heavy one) would be the second floor of your home. The beams may not support the weight and cause a disaster!
Other than that, i believe any place is suitable.

I thought it was good that they get some natural sunlight?

mop- well, thats for basking. but if you had some egg crate then you can put it on top of your tank and put it near your window so they dont come out

but i still dont recommend it.

It's good for the turtles, but not for the water in the tank.I already explained why.
