custom made for cheaper? sounds great to me.

a 50g tank will last you until your turtle's shell is roughly 5 inches (12-13cm) long. If you can wait and save up for a tank 75gallons or larger, you'll be set for quite a while.

It's not really preferred, but you can get that extra space in a taller thank rather than wider. This will save you floor space. RESs are good enough swimmers that they would enjoy the swimming area.

I've seen turtles live in worse conditions. It's not up to suggested size, but as long as you have only one turtle, he should be find in a 50g

I have been to the Philipppines and understand the culture and conditions. Save up your money and please buy a large enough tank when you can. You will eventually require a larger tank. A 50 gallon tank will allow your turtle to grow (50 gallons equals about 200 liters). This size should be good for one 4-5 inch turtle (about 12 cm long). Just make sure the tank can withstand the amount of water, especially where the glass is joined together (i.e., corners and the bottom edges) and the stand/floor can support the weight (water weighs about 7 pounds per gallon or approximately 7 kg per liter). I have a basking light but since I live in Florida I also bring my two RES outside.
