Habitat - Indoor :: Heater question

So tonight I bought a flexible bubble wand, as we have some guppies and rosy reds that share the tank with our turtles, and we wanted them to have oxygen in the water (until the turtles catch them, at least, hehe). I have it under our sand, and it seemed to kick some sand up onto the heater. Is this bad for the heater if some sand rests on it? If it is, I'm going to switch to a bubble wall that will attach above the sand so I don't have this problem.

Since the heater should be cylindrical, I can't imagine there to be enough accumulation to create a situation.

when i stir my sand some of it gets on the heater. its never enough to do anything though. as long as it isnt being burried i dont think its a problem
