Good point Chris. But as others have mentioned, you should just buy a new one. Custom cut glass is not very cheap and the tank rims would need to be replaced as well.

Yeah, I had a tank bottom crack on me because I filled it up on an uneven surface.

Since it's the rear side of the tank, what about a metal plate (painted to rustproof) for support, lined with coroplast on the inside for a cheap fix? Sheet metal is fairly cheap and so it coroplast - and it's often used underwater so it should be aquarium-safe.

I've had a tank crack on me and we tried to repair it. But after continuous use, it just kept spreading until I couldn't use it anymore.

The waterfall takes up a lot of swimming space is it crucial to the setup.?

Good point about the uneven surface. Either way the tank was old and I still think it was a combination of things. I mean if there's algae under the caulk then that means its letting loose for peeling right?? Also if you look where its cracked it looks like the high side failed, and there was only a small part on the gravel. Thoughts? If it's my fault I in no way want to screw the seller.

Anyways to the good news!! The local pet store has a 55gallon tank, nice stand, and light w/ choice of bulb for 140. Good deal?
