Habitat - Indoor :: new basking spot

I just got some of the egg crate and put a new basking spot together. I can't tell if fric and frax like it or not. I never see them in it. I am worried that they are not using it. I am about to just go back to the old one. Is there a way to tell if they are or not?

Sometimes it takes turtles a while to adjust to a change like a new basking area. If it's only been a week or so I'd give them more time. Just make sure that the ramp isn't too steep or that there's another reason physically preventing them from using the basking area.

it has only been a couple of days. I am just worried that they are not using it and so they are not sleeping either.

Try putting a treat like a small piece of boiled chicken up there, and see if it disappears.

what do you mean they are not sleeping either?

I mean I do not see them using the new place so I do not think that they are resting or sleeping at all.

They mostly sleep in the water and at night, so typically your turtles won't use the basking area to sleep.

I guarantee they are resting though, do you have plants in your tank? I'll bet they are using those to rest on, and they can just take a breather by sticking there head out of the water.

Is it possible they are basking and you just haven't seen them up there yet?

No plants as of yet. I am still working on putting it together for them. I am trying to put some pic in here so that I can get some feed back about it. good or bad.

Well they are using the new place. I still need to get some plants. But thanks for every thing. I have not had the time to get the pictures yet. hope to soon.
