Just as a reference I have a 110 gal tank with 2 turtles I was low on money and bought a XP3, it's significantly cheaper than the XP4, less powerful though. It keeps the tank clean for quite awhile, just requires more frequent cleaning. Basically, the bigger, better filter will require less frequent cleaning, the smaller ones will need to be cleaned more often. All depends on how much time you have to maintain your tank.
