Habitat - Indoor :: Need Help... New tank 75g

Hi everyone.

I have a new 75g tank. I need ideas for basking areas, Im thinking cork bark. Also how do I clean the tank I read some where in the forum to mix vinegar and water... any more suggestions? I just bought an XP3 filter, and now I need to get a heater. Is 250watts sufficient, or should I get two heaters a 100w and 200w. what is best?

You can use vinegar+water, or just straight vinegar to clean. The key is rinsing. If the tank is new, you won't need any more than just the vinegar water solution.

If the air temp is in the mid 70s F, then one 250 watt will be just fine. I have one 300 watt in both my 75 and 90 gallon, and they keep the temperature constant.

Is your tank Glass or Acrylic?
If Glass you can also use a razor blade to clean water deposits and such.

One 250 Watt should be sufficient. I like the Marineland Visi-Therm Stealth heater. Great heater, has an automatic shut off if water comes above its water line, unbreakable, reliable, and easy to read what temp it is on. I have the 250 watt stealth in my 55 gal, love it.

I also use one visitherm 250W in a 75 gallon and it regulates the water perfectly. I used a lazer thermometer to check the temp all over the tank!

Yeah i have that same heater, but rocky some how made the end go above water, and the heater developed bumps lol. Sounds funny but thats the best way I can describe it. Im ordering the 250 watt one.

Also what kind of vinegar do I use to clean tank?

I had a marineland stealth heater, does the brand really matter.

Also does anyoner know if those plastic ramps are good for RES, they show one on the website?

That heater looks fine to me. Some heater brands are better than others, the visitherm stealth is popular because it's plastic rather than glass, and it's very reliable. I've never used a marineland heater so i can't really say how they are. Those ramps are great, i used one for a while and liked it a lot.
