Habitat - Indoor :: I finally stabilized my new tank.

Turtle tank setups and other indoor configurations.

Post Posted: Mon Jun 09, 2008 3:13 pm   I finally stabilized my new tank.

I got a 125 gallon tank for my birthday back in march, but it took a while for me to get used to the new size. I just wasn’t able to get the water to be clear. Anyway, after I figured out the right amount of circulation, and bought a bigger UVB light, the tank looks pretty good. The water seems to evaporate pretty fast even though all of the temperatures are on point. Other than that, I am pretty happy with it. Here are some pictures of it:

I love your setup! Very cool with the whole Venice feel :) Where did you get the background? I've been looking for one, and that is pretty cool. Good job!!

Thanks for the compliments. The background is actually my old bed sheet. I like it because it covers the open cabinet in the back. As for what kind of turtles they are… my brother found all of them in different predicaments. He rescued each one individually when they were all the size of quarters and kept them until he moved out at 18. I moved in and found them bigger, but in the same ten gallon tank. After reading this web site, they kind of have become a hobby of mine, not mention they are really great pets. Anyway, I’ve been told several different species, when I asked what they all were. Based on the information, I know the biggest turtle is a red eared slider, the medium (who I’m sure is a girl) I’ve been told is a yellow belly or a yellow belly mix, and the smallest one has been called a cooter or a painted turtle. I really am not sure though.
