Habitat - Indoor :: Temporary Basking Need Advice!!

I have'nt bought the tank for my baby RES yet. So I was thinking would it be ok to put the RES in a bowl with no water and put it where the sun could hit it for a while?? thanx in advance.

I'd say no. When are you going to be able to buy a tank? I say no because sun can overheat a glass tank/bowl quite quickly which can harm/kill your res. What is he in now? What supplies do you have so far?

well for the bowl i used i had the bottom wrappen in wet paper towl so it wont over heat. I will be able to get the tank tomorow or sunday. For supplies I only have pellets and i have him/her in a mini plastic tank it came in(like half a gallon). I din't buy anything else because I want to get it all at once. Im a little scared though because he/she don't want to eat the pellets.

If you're getting the supplies this weekend, I would say don't worry about it. He's been this long without a proper habitat, so a couple days more won't hurt.

As for him not eating yet, don't worry just yet. It can take turtles a week or more to get used to their new home. Just keep offering them, and I'm sure he'll catch on. But scoop out the old stuff, since otherwise the water would get nasty quickly.

Yeah I noticed so i change it every halve or 1 or2 hours and just put a new pellet. The water do get nasty so I can't wait to buy the tank

When I first bought my hatchling, I was in NYC and had no way to get him supplies. Leo lived in the little plastic case for probably a day and a half until I got back home and bought a set up.

I think you'd be wiser to keep him in the container in a safe, quiet place. You don't want him in the sun because he can easily get overheated and die and the drastic temp changes can make him ill. Just get the proper supplies as soon as possible. The fact that he's not eating now is normal, it will probably take a few days or more once he's set up to start feeling safe enough to eat.
