Habitat - Indoor :: Is it ok if I use this?

Is it ok if I use a rubbermaid container for my RES? If so, what gallon? Thanks in advance!

Rubbermaids make excellent short-term homes for RES! I would say get the biggest you can, say 50 gal or so.

Just keep in mind that they aren't meant to hold water, so you will need to brace the sides so they don't bow out.

If you're looking for a permanent solution, you can look at stock tanks. These are kind of big storage containers that are meant to hold water. They're big (100 gal +) so they'll accommodate your RES for the rest of his/her life

i never knew how big rubbermaid containers get. i should consider getting 1 then for my red eared slider female and baby male. i kno i shouldnt put them together which i dont do. i should consider buying one since their cheao

i know this post is kind of old, but i have a rubbermaid if your still thinking about it let me know, i will send you the pics of my setup i have a 50 gallon, with two turtles one YBS and one RES, there both about 3 to 4 inches long, so im going to try and upgrade soon. But like i said let me know if you wanna see the pics

Ah, I remember those pics. How do you like the Aquaball vs. Fluval?

The aqua ball isnt to bad, the one i have is for 40G and under. The tank is 50G so i added a submersible Fluval, all in all i feel that the Eheim Aquaball clogs up faster causing it to have a weaker stream, the Fluval's output never seems to be affected.
