Yes, it is normal. I have to add water to mine sometimes twice a week. My tank is near a ceiling fan and near a door that I sometimes leave open for my cats.

Yeah my water level can drop 3 or 4 inches weekly. It all has to do with evaporation. 3 or 4 inches in a 110 gallon tank which I have is quite a bit of water. it is usually enough so Rexi cant get up on the basking area until I fill it up.

I have a 40 gallon breeder and I have to add a gallon of water every other day. Sometimes it seems ridiculous! But when I add the water, it makes all of the debris get picked up by the filter, so it's okay. Oh, but also watch, since you are losing water, if you are near walls, wallpaper, wood shelving, books, etc. you may get molding from the extra water. So keep an eye out.

I clean out the filter once a month, and I usually add repti safe once every two weeks.. and turtle clean when I clean the filter. I haven't changed the water and it's still crystal clean.. is that ok? (I always just add water when it evaporates..)
