I think I mayb have found something new to create an above the tank basking area. Let me know if you guys think it could work or not?

It would work, but it only comes for 10, 20, and 29 gal tanks. Plus a UVB light wouldn't be effective through the wire.

I have also looked at the wire enclosures that go on top of the tank to create more room for hamsters. The wire is wider spaced and wouldn't interfere with UVB lighting. I gave up looking for one that was large enough to fit the entire top of the cage. You could probably find something that fit over one half.

I'd be worried about turtles climbing up that plus it seems pretty high for florescent UVBs. It has potential if the inner sides can be lined with Plexiglas.

I never even thought about the turtles climbing it which is stupid of me because I have watched them climb before! Oh well... it was an idea LOL. Thanks for the replies :)

I was thinking of getting that exact same enclosure as in the first post! When I saw it it was on drsfostersmith.com web site, and in the pic there the bar spacing looks wider....
