Habitat - Indoor :: help on fixtures.

I am looking for a fixture that I can use my Repti Glo 5.0 uvb-florescent bulb in? will it fit in a clamp lamp?

a clamp lamp will work fine...I believe that is what's typically used...

Also in your avatar pic...I notice small pebbles...if no one has told you yet I would deffinitely get rid of them...Your turtle will eat them and may become impacted...Just a word of advice

I bought a fluorescent hood, at PetSmart they had ones that would take between 1-4 bulbs I think. I got one with two to add some extra lighting in the tank. The only catch I've found with the clamp lamps is that you need one that is either clamped on or a deep domed one since the bulb is a little bigger than an incandescent.

That's funny about the little rocks. I've had Mr. Turtle for about 1 1/2 years now and I've always had little rocks in my tank. Perhaps I'll be removing them? I don't really need a dead turtle on my hands.

I will replace The rocks. I need to find some river rocks anyone know where i can get them?

Where are you from? I live in the rocky mountains, so I just get them out of my back yard. Maybe you could check a driveway company or a landscaper. I've never even considered BUYING rocks!

i use the clamps the have @ petco.. i use the exact same bulb and the bulb is actually too long for it, get a really deep coned shape one if ur going to use a clamp.

ohyeah, and as for the pebbles.. remove them asap. i took my girlfriends res off her hands ebcause she couldnt take care of them any more... ive had them for a week and a half now, and they are stilling pooing rock pebbles... atleast 5 a day. make SURE u get rid of the asap.

I guess you can find them at the dollar stores in good sized bags. You might have to check a few stores, but a lot of people get them that way.

I found a 10 lbs bag of river rock (nice and smooth) at Home Depot. The price wasn't too bad either.

I got a 30 lb bag of river rock/pond rocks at wall mart for 4.00 i havint posted a pic yet tho

Ya, river rock can be found around any aquarium section of a store.
