I have been alittle confused with this, How long should you leave the light on for the Turtles? Is it 12 hours on and 12 hours off? If I remember right, Well what happens if you leave just the lamp light on all the time the 40 watt bulb? Would it hurt anything?

Would Appericate some answers :D

You want to simulate daylight, so 12 on 12 off is about right.
Leaving the light on is not a good idea. It will mess up your turtles "natural rhythm." Same thing with you, if the sun stayed up all day and all night, you'd get pretty cranky :P

Besides confusing your turtle, leaving the lights on will most likely lea to a wicked algae problem. Pick up a timer at the harware store (or grocery store or wherever), they're pretty cheap and they make life a lot easier.
