no that should be fine it doesnt hurt to push extra water specially if its temporary. In an aquarium it might not do well because it pushes so mutch it would have a probelm "settling down" to let the water clear out
Thats why you see alot of people on here so picky about filters its madning to keep the water clear with something as filthy as a turtle..lol
