Habitat - Indoor :: live plants vs. fake plants?

Hey,

I'm looking to add some decor to my tank, it's pretty bare now. I am getting rocks for the bottom, but I want to add plants. Are live plants better than fake plants? The thing with fake plants is I'm afraid of my turtles trying to eat them. I haven't had plants in the tank before so I don't know if they will even want to. With live plants, they seem pretty expensive; if my turtles do eat them, will I need to replace them often, or will it grow at a faster rate than my turtles can eat? I have two turtles, under a year old.

Live plants are good for snacks for your turts. You could get lucky, and your turts may not choose to eat the plants right away, but of course there's no guarentee. You could do a mixture of live and fake plants, that way if the turts ate all the live ones, you'd still have some green in your tank
