Turtle tank setups and other indoor configurations.

I have been looking everywhere for anarcharis and duckweed in every petstore in my town and in other cities close by. The Petstores dont seem to be carrying it right now. Most said they wont carry these plants some say they might get some in the summer. Im just wondering if anybody has bought plants online and whether the plants are healthy when they arrive? Which stores would be recomended?

Well, I have seen a lot of sites that sell plants. The shipping is very expensive though. Around $30 to be exact. You could always get some plants of www.ebay.com . I know there are some sellers there that are very recommended. I think there is another thread on this going around the forum right now.

I ordered anacharis from liveaquaria.com. It was pretty expensive after the shipping, the bunches were skimpy, and the plants weren't in good shape at all. I would go with some of the ebay sellers, people seem to have had sucess with them.

My local ma/pa petstore will order some as soon as I request it - you don't have one that will do the same? Hmmm...wonder if it's 'cause of our warm climate they'll do that...?

I live in Vermont and no one here has anything at all for live plants, anacharis is not even allowed to be sold here, so I was in NY (my gf lives there) and I called at least a dozen pet stores the only one that had anything was petsmart, if you have one close to you try them, they had lots of good looking anacharis plants and hornwort, i still have had no luck with a few other plants though.

yeah i have tried petsmart and all other petstores in the area, and none will order any. I think i will try ebay and then let you all know how it goes incase anyone else is looking for some. I think that is my only option.

Hello! I buy all of my duckweed from this seller on ebay. She has a store and her prices are awesome, as well as her plants. I have never had one complaint about anything I have purchased from her and my turtles LOVE the duckweed. Here is the link to her store:

Here are a couple I have ordered from and been happy with. The first one actually sells turtle munchies occasionally; Anacharis, duckweed, and water lettuce I think.
