Alright I know I have already asked a few questions on this project but I have a few more.

Here is what I am doing:

Building a basking area above my aquarium out of cabinet grade birch plywood.

On the outside I want to paint an underwater seen(I have a good artist friend whos doing that).

Is it ok to use any kind of paint or should I use something special, also I think I should polyurithane (however its spelt) it but should I use a water based poly or is any kind ok, someone said to keep away from the oil based ones but I have some of that downstairs and which to save money if possible...

Oh and the bottom is plexi, and there is no wood in the water but its inevitably going to get wet.

Sounds like a cool idea I would just use some non toxic paint that would probably not hurt your turtle if they decided to try and eat it.
