Dividing the tank into dry and aquatic areas really takes away valuable swimming space for the turtle.
You could build an above tank basking area and make it as beachy as you like and not take away any swimming space. Look at the photo section for some examples of above tank basking areas. As for making accessible ramps, one key factor is not having it be too steep. On top of that, you'll need something to provide traction. Rubber shelf liners seem to be a popular choice for that.
What are you intending to use the glue for? A safe alternative is non-toxic aquarium silicone.
