Habitat - Indoor :: can I put some sand in the tank?

In the basking area, curently I have like a wood box, but yesterday I saw the turtle trying to bite it, so Im going to do the basking area with glass. I want it to divide it in 2 parts. One part will have a hiding area, and in the other one part I want to put beach sand, just in case the turtle wants to digg or play. Is there any danger if I put beach sand in there. Of course that area will be completely separated from the water. I just think she might like it... What can I do in the ramp, to give some texture, so the turtle wont slide. And what kind of glue can I use for accesories...

Dividing the tank into dry and aquatic areas really takes away valuable swimming space for the turtle.
You could build an above tank basking area and make it as beachy as you like and not take away any swimming space. Look at the photo section for some examples of above tank basking areas. As for making accessible ramps, one key factor is not having it be too steep. On top of that, you'll need something to provide traction. Rubber shelf liners seem to be a popular choice for that.
What are you intending to use the glue for? A safe alternative is non-toxic aquarium silicone.

Actually the basking area is on top of the tank, so it doesnt affect the swimming space. I'll use silicon then, but does the silicon works on any material?

I used the regular aquarium glue to put my whole basking area together, and to glue down the turf... everything is still holding fine.
